Gossett - Effie Long

Mrs. Effie Gossett, who would have been 100 years old on Aug. 3, died Thursday in Ben Hur Nursing Home. Born Aug. 3, 1877, in Hendricks County, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Creighton Long. She was married Dec. 30, 1896, to E. Everett Gossett. He died in 1938. She was a member of First Christian Church. Survivors are a son, Harold, of Brownsburg; a daughter, Mrs. H. N. (Nell) Otterman of Crawfordsville; seven grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. John Glosser officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery at Jamestown. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday. – jlr
